Unipiper’s Portland: Local Hero is a street-level documentary series about the people whose everyday work gives Portland its character. Produced and directed by Sasha Santiago, the series follows Brian Kidd, the Unipiper, into our neighborhoods to meet the people building, creating, and keeping things going.
We’re building a living portrait of Portland, one neighborhood and one encounter at a time—and we’re looking for our next stops.
Invite the Unipiper into your world
Do you run a local business, lead a community organization, make art, or keep a neighborhood institution alive? We’d like to hear from you.
A Local Hero might be a shop owner who brings neighbors together, an artist working out of a garage, or an organizer whose contribution rarely makes headlines. We want to spend time where the work happens and discover what it takes, why it matters, and who it brings together.
Brian’s curiosity and humor guide each encounter. He’ll ask questions, listen, and get involved when invited, giving viewers a chance to meet the people behind the places they pass every day.
Tell us about your business or organization, your neighborhood, and what you’d like Brian to discover. Reach out to be considered for our growing list of visits—or nominate someone whose story deserves attention.
Sponsor an installment
We’re also looking for sponsors for individual installments of Unipiper’s Portland. Sponsorship helps us produce these local stories with Portland-based crew and share them with audiences here and beyond the city.
If your business or organization would like to support the series, reach out to learn more about sponsorship opportunities.
