Unipiper’s Portland / The TV series

The city is the story.

A local hero rolls through Portland, discovering its backyard one conversation at a time. Follow Brian Kidd around the city—and follow your curiosity into its neighborhoods.

Unipiper’s Portland is a street-level series about the people, places, businesses, artists, and neighborhood characters that give Portland its identity.

At the center is Brian Kidd—the Unipiper—one of Portland’s most recognizable cultural figures and a living symbol of its strange, playful, creative spirit. He’s our guide. Each episode follows Brian as he meets a Local Hero: someone helping make the city feel like itself.

Artists. Shopkeepers. Musicians. Makers. Bartenders. Organizers. Eccentrics. Neighborhood institutions. People doing something worth knowing about.

This fall, the show will take a deeper dive into the neighborhoods of Kernswood and Hollywood’s Film District, spending more time with the people who live, work, and create there. Through conversations, visits, and unexpected encounters, we’ll explore how local businesses, creative spaces, and everyday relationships shape each neighborhood’s character.

The familiar storefront you’ve never stepped inside. The person you recognize but haven’t met. The story waiting just around the corner.
